The Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum is built on a bluff over the Mississippi River on the University of Minnesota campus. The striking, faceted, building is one of the most recognizable buildings in Minneapolis.

The Weisman houses a changing schedule of exhibits, as well as a permanent collection of over seventeen thousand works of art. The Weisman’s collection of American Modernism, ceramics, mimbres pottery, and Korean furniture are especially highly regarded.

Admission to the Walker is always free of charge!

Free public tours are offered every Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 pm.

Parking
The parking garage is located beneath the museum on East River Road. Public parking is available in the museum ramp at a rate of $2.75 per hour with a daily maximum of $12.00. The parking ramp and the museum are both handicapped accessible.

It's great to have awesome work from Frank Gehry on campus! Keep your eye out for events featuring student work. I heard there was talk of expanding the space for more galleries and a cafe.
