Take a step back in time to Minnesota’s rich past at Historic Murphy’s Landing. This enchanting living history museum on the banks of the Minnesota River will let you see pioneer history come to life! Historic Murphy’s Landing features more than 40 historic buildings on 88 acres of parkland. These building illustrate life for pioneering families in Minnesota.

Special events are scheduled throughout the year. During the summer, you can go see the “Live it History” Weekends, which feature live performers depicting people who may have resided in the Minnesota River Valley in the 1800s. On weekends in December, Historic Murphy’s Landing features Folkways of the Holidays, when guests can go see what the holiday season was like for pioneering Minnesotans. Enjoy horse-drawn trolley rides, tours of the historic buildings decorated for the season, musical entertainment, witness folk art being created, and interact with historical performers!

School tours and self-guided tour are available on weekdays from May 26 through September 3rd.

Tours:

* Weekdays: 10am - 4pm.
* Admission: $5 Buildings are not staffed or open except during guided tours, but interiors may be viewed any time the site is open through glass doors and windows. A thematic self-guided brochure and building signs provide information about the structures.

Weekends and Special Events
* A variety of weekend and special events activities are planned year-round.

Historic Murphy's Landing is located approximately 23 miles southwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota, at 2187 East Highway 101 in Shakopee.

From Minneapolis, take Interstate 394 west, turn south on U.S. Highway 169 and take Highway 101 west. Take Highway 101 west approximately four miles to the Historic Murphy's Landing entrance, which is located on the north side of the highway, just west of Valleyfair Amusement Park.
