I've gone to the Aveda Institute for a haircut several times over the past year or two. I've always been pleased with the result and the price is very affordable - less than $20, if memory serves. The entire process may take a bit longer than going elsewhere, but I think it's a decent tradeoff for the service provided. And I personally like knowing that a student is gaining experience and education (and hopefully some money too)!
